Adrienne Rowland is the Director of Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, the first and only facility accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums in the state of Nevada. She oversees all aspects of the aquarium’s operations, including animal care, conservation programs, education, and sustainability initiatives; while ensuring the facility meets the highest standards of animal welfare, public education and environmental stewardship.
With more than 30 years of experience in hospitality, attractions, and animal care, Adrienne specializes in leading mission driven teams, advancing conservation priorities, and delivering impactful guest experiences that inspire conservation. She has guided Shark Reef through multiple AZA accreditations and spearheads efforts in population planning, environmental responsibility, philanthropy and public engagement.
Adrienne plays an active role in conservation leadership across the AZA community. A Professional Fellow and member since 2004, she served on the AZA Board of Directors; including as Chair in 2023, and contributes to multiple committees focused on aquatic population sustainability, business operations, and SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) conservation initiatives.
