Born and raised in Carson, California. In retrospect, my path to television started with dreams of being a basketball player.
I earned Scholar-Athlete honors at Gahr High School, balancing AP courses & Model United Nations with trips to the CIF Championship in basketball & volleyball.
After breaking my leg, ankle, and wrist in high school I opted to forego athletics in college and used an academic scholarship to attend Baylor University, where I pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.
Two years later I transferred to UNLV to be closer to family and pursue a playing career once again. The plan was to transition from Runnin’ Rebels team manager to making the team, except I tore my ACL (for a 2nd time) the night before the first practice of the semester.
The athlete’s mindset never left, however, and journalism filled my competitive hunger.
I’m now Emmy-nominated and the first person with the title ‘producer, reporter, anchor’ in KLAS-TV history. I also cover the NBA & WNBA for, RotoWire, and other outlets while hosting my own podcast for the past three years.
All this while graduating college during the pandemic and being there everyday for my now 4-year-old son. I realize everything was by design and want to empower the next generation to be as bold as I was in pursuit of their dreams.
