
Derek Lux is a singer, actor, puppeteer, award-winning puppet designer and builder, theatrical show creator, and headlining Las Vegas performer whose work spans stage, screen, and international entertainment. He launched his career in entertainment performing for a combined six years in the world-renowned Beach Blanket Babylon.
Derek has designed, built and performed puppets for films, television, music videos, theatrical productions, and multiple Las Vegas resident shows, earning a Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Honor Award for his work on Shrek The Musical. He was the creator, director, and star of the Las Vegas resident production Wonderland, which ran for 18 months.
Through his production company, DLUX Puppets, Derek tours with original musical, multimedia stage adaptations featuring life-size puppetry, performing in theaters across the country, having just recently performed in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for The Arts. He served as Senior Advisor of Puppetry for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and was Director of Puppetry Performance for Paw Patrol Live! Heroes Unite!. His varied skill set within the art form of puppetry has led him on many adventures, even advising, consulting and working directly with David Copperfield.
As an actor, Derek has appeared in television, commercials, and independent films and is a longtime SAG-AFTRA member. He is also dedicated to giving back, volunteering with Win-Win Charities and GiGi's Playhouse. Derek lives in Las Vegas with his wife Lauren and their twin sons, Dylan and Dexter, who all frequently perform alongside him onstage.
